Compressor
This lesson explains the compressor. Compressor is a dynamic effect that attenuates the signal once it has reached a level higher than a set threshold. This lesson also covers serial and parallel compression.
Limiter
This lesson explains the limiter. A Limiter is a dynamic effect that attenuates the signal once it has reached a level higher than a set threshold. While similar to a compressor the limiter usually has an infinite to one ratio. This is also called a brickwall limiter.
Noise Gate
This lesson explains the noise gate effect. A noise gate is a dynamic effect that attenuates the signal once it has reached a level lower than a set threshold.
