Headroom

This lesson explains headroom. Headroom entails that we make sure that the input and output from every element in the chain are of some nominal level. By making sure this is fulfilled our plugins will not have any problems with inputs that are too loud or too quiet.

Loudness

Loudness is the subjective perception of sound pressure. This lesson explains the concept of loudness. Loudness can be measured in several ways but the most important we explain here it the correlation between the peak and RMS value.

Leveling & Panning

This lesson explains the overall leveling and panning of the elements in a song. This is a rough mixing process where we want to make sure that the elements in the mix are not too far away from their intended volume or position in the stereo field.
